Lumen provides vouchers for under-served elementary and middle school children to attend Robotics and Coding Camps. We look for young students who have the desire to learn technology, but are not in a economic situation that allows for them to attend technology camps. Most camps cost from $500 to $800 for a week of training. Lumen has searched for camps that give a good value for less and then covers the cost of the technology training for the students.
We strive for a 50/50 gender mix and have each student fill out a request form. Parents often supply an email supporting their child’s efforts and their schools recommend most of the children. Our training partner, Generation Tech Support, offers a solid program for $250. The camps offer a variety of activities including Mindstorm, Robotics, Cool Coding, Build a Laptop and Radical Robots. Camps run throughout the summer, on weekends, after school and over holidays.
Donations for Lumen Robotic and Coding Camps go to providing students the vouchers to cover the entire cost of the week-long programs. Donate now and send kids to tech camp.
Donations allow under-served students of all ages to participate in the Lumen Robotics and Coding Camps programs:
- Coding camps for all ages on weekends and in the summer
- Robotics camps for all ages
- High School Hack-a-Thons where groups of individuals solve problems using technology and collaboration
